This blog has been something that I’ve thought about for quite some time, but kept putting to one side. Why? Because there always seemed something ‘more productive’ to be done. Let’s backtrack a little… I started nursery aged three and finished my education last autumn at the ripe old age of twenty-two. All those years culminated in a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in applied sport and exercise psychology. I worked hard, I volunteered, I played sport, I coached, and here I am fantastically unemployed due to a lack of EXPERIENCE. That’s the buzzword. If you want to work in sports then you need at least ten years experience, a first born son, ten virgins, and the blood off a unicorn slayed under a full moon – or thereabouts. Without getting too bogged down with sexism (I’m sure there will be a post on that later), it’s even harder if you’re a woman.
So, this blog has arisen as an opportunity for me to discuss matters in sport that I find important and interesting, whilst also allowing me to use my brain from time to time (as today I typed ‘whouldn’t’ truly believing that was a word).
I will leave you with this image of Anaheim Ducks captain, Ryan Getzlaf.
